Sister to a prominent Hellion who called himself Pyre, her brother attempted to sacrifice her to a demonic entity to fuel his own Damned powers. His will proved insufficient, and he burned. Her own will was made of stronger stuff, and she not only managed to repel the demon, but also to seize some of its power for herself, mastering the unnatural flames that leapt about her skin and turning them against the restraints that bound her to the sacrificial pyre (alternately, the experience triggered her latent mutation, which screwed up the deal, since she was supposed to be sacrificed by fire, and she wouldn’t burn, as the fires turned away to consume her brother instead…).
